In a magical kingdom

So join us for momstown's Winter Wonderland

Come out and meet momstown from 10am to 1pm on family day (Feb 15) at the Bower Kin Community Centre (85 Boyce Street) and enjoy a day of winter fun for the whole family! Join us and see for yourself what momstown Central Alberta has to offer with free portrait sittings by Kai Smyth Photography (get 1 free 5x7 print too!), face painting, a baby & tot play area by Discovery Toys, kids crafts, door prizes, skating, snacks and hot chocolate for all!

We will also keep you busy throughout the day with demonstrations of some family friendly activities & services available in the Central Alberta area. There will be a Wee Sign baby sign language demonstration by Rhea O-Hara, a family fitness class demonstrated by Jo Dumont Fitness Training, storytime by the Red Deer Public Libarary, circle time by momstown Central Alberta and a Kindermusik demonstration by Valerie Hughes.

So dress those kiddies in their cutest winter outfits so they are portrait ready, bring your husbands and join us for a day of family fun! All moms attending the event will receive a free trial membership to momstown.

Welcome!

Hi, my name is Alison, and I am the owner of momstown Central Alberta. I am mommy to two beautiful boys – Alex, 4 years old and Eli who turns 1 at the end of February. I grew up in Red Deer and lived there until, in my early twenties, I felt the urge to explore a bit and moved to BC. After completing college in Victoria, I came back to Alberta to live in Edmonton while my husband (who is also from Red Deer) finished University. After he graduated we drifted around a bit, and after having a difficult pregnancy with our first son, we decided to come home to Central Alberta - settling in Lacombe. We have truly enjoyed reconnecting with old friends and family over the past few years – as well as making some new friends along the way.

Since returning to Central Alberta, I have experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to meet other moms of young kids. I sometimes have felt that I am back in the world of dating with awkward introductions and requests for ‘play dates’. I know that I am not alone in this – which is why I am so excited to bring momstown to Central Alberta and help to connect local neighbourhood moms. There will be plenty of opportunities to connect with other Central Alberta moms as we get together for play groups, parties, picnics, moms nights out, field trips and much, much more.  

We will be opening our virtual doors in January. In the mean time check here for any updates. I look forward to meeting all of you!
