Tales for Tots: Good Night Sleep Tight

momstown Central Alberta's October Book of the month for Tales for Tots Programs is

Every month we meet at Chapters Red Deer for story time, crafts, playtime and give a copy of our Scholastic Book of the month away!

Here is the review from Scholastic:
In this sweet story that's just perfect for bedtime reading, Bonnie and Ben's favorite babysitter tells them nursery rhymes at bedtime, including "It's raining! It's pouring! The old man is snoring"; "This little piggy went to market"; and more. Bonnie and Ben enjoy the stories so much that they don't want to go to sleep; they want to hear each one again! Instead the babysitter tells them new nursery rhymes until, finally, all three of them fall fast sleep.

My Girls loved that they knew these nursery rhymes and the love the repetitive lines that they can say with me!

One Lucky member and her Family took this book home!

Join us next month at Chapters Red Deer for our next installment of our Tales for Tots Program Sponsored by Scholastic Canada

Baby Basics: Books for Babies - Never Let you Go

This month the momstown Baby Basics Book of the month is Never Let You Go by Patricia Storms.

What a wonderful book to share with baby!

A spirited little penguin learns that a parent’s love is unconditional. Hilariously funny and just as tender, this book perfectly captures the enduring bond between a parent and a child.

My girls love ALL things Penguin! And the Babies and moms loved this touching book!

Here is Alicia with Rhys, the winners of the book this month!

Join us next month, for another Baby Basics Session at Chapters for Books for Babies, our baby book club!

Leaf Art and Science

momstown Central Alberta hosts a program each month called Little Scientist.
With the onset of Fall, we decided to explore leaves!

Unfortunaltey it was raining, so our planned leaf hunt had to be postponed, but luckily we still had a stash!

The first thing we did was look at all the leaves that were brought and sicussed how they felt, their colros and which ones we liked the best.

Then we put the leaves under some paper and rubbed a crayon over top to see what happens!
In case you were wondering, leaf rubbings doesnt get old! All the moms had to try it again just like they did when they were kids.

Then the kids choses their favourite leaves and we glued them to paper.
My daughters though tthis was THE BEST CRAFT EVER ha ha and did about 7 pages in total!!

We have quite the collection on our fridge now.  The girls are Still collecting more leaves to create MORE leaf art!

Join us next month when our Little Scientists get messy with some Halloween Science!!
