This month our book was Wishes by the acclaimed Canadian author Jean Little.
From momstown's book review
The rhyming format make the book a pleasure both to read and to listen to, and suits the dream-like quality of the words. The illustrations are equally fantasticle. Featuring whimsical images of children and things, the colours used are soft, but the pictures are full of surprising details. What looks like a wave in the sea is really a fish, and somewhere amongst the clouds you can spot one shaped like a bird.
This was true for our Central Alberta momstown kids!
They all gathered around to listen to the story!!
When we were finished listening to the story, we started creating our own wishing stars!
While we were creating our starts the kids discussed what they would wish for... and believe it or not (wink) Candy was very high on the list for wishes!!
Once our stars were complete, we got to the important part of the event, the giving away of the free book!
Our member Lisa was the lucky winner this week for her family!!
